this new grapefruit clam shell box is pretty much packed with everything the sorrows recorded in the 60s and a bit beyond, im really glad on disc #1 who got the smoke in your eyes produced by joe meek in 1964 is at the end of disc #1,im really glad the few joe meek tracks made this collection. all four discs are housed in nice mini lp replica sleeves like the original lps where and the remastering sounds great!!! the sorrows just may have been one of the first bands on the scene in the uk to take there r&b beat sound and turn it into a psyche sound by late 1965 before psyche really cought on by 1966 or there about, with all that was going on in the uk by 66 the sorrows moved from the uk to italy where they seemed to have a better following and some of the recordings on the pink , purple yellow & red disc where recorded there, some of the earlier tracks here from the take a heart record have the italian language versions, also loaded here are both stereo and mono versions of the take a heart lp as well as a lot of other outtakes and alternative versions of some of these tracks, also a couple of tracks the sorrows did for an italian film from the late 60s are here as well grapefruit really crammed this 4 cd box set with probably almost everything in the sorrows vaults... like i said this is the best sorrows collection i have ever seen released on the cd format, great booklet comes with this as well!!!!! if you are a fan of uk / euro 60s pop, beat and psyche you cant go wrong here!!!!!! the sorrows are a bit underrated almost 60 years on but they where one of the best that came out of swinging london long ago!!!! ps the sorrows actually did start in germany as far back as 1963 before they ever got signed......
