I recommend that if you're going to use any gloves for sparring that they be lace up gloves. Lace-up gloves provide much more wrist support. I would not recommend these gloves for sparring. I purchased them to hit the heavy bag. The reason I got these for the bag is I have bad Knuckles and I need soft gloves. These gloves are very soft and there is a lot of room inside the gloves for your hands. I use knuckle guards under my wraps so I need a lot of room and these gloves are perfect. If you have small hands these are not the gloves for you. Pretty decent quality gloves. If you're not planning to go hard in sparring then they shouldn't be a problem especially if you're an experienced boxer fighting a more green boxer and you're taking it easy. But if you're going all out, the support is just not there and you get badly injured your wrist as I have in the past with these similar-type gloves from ringside. For my needs they're perfect and I would recommend them if you're in a similar situation
