We were looking for a sofa and chairs to go under a pergola in part of our yard and were looking at something modern looking. We have a lot of extreme weather where we live from -20 to 110 with plenty of rain so I did not want to spend the many thousands of dollars some such items cost. I looked at Pottery Barn and saw a sofa and chairs that looked good when an advert for the Modway pieces appeared all over my phone and tablet. Going by the pictures the Modway piece looks very, very similar to the set I viewed on Pottery Barn but at less than half the price. I like the fact that the Modway pieces have an aluminum frame as I've noticed cheaper versions often have steel frames albeit powder coated. So this was another plus as are the Sunbrella covered cushions. I know from experience that Sunbrella fabrics hold up extremely well in other variable weather. As the furniture has been under waterproof covers I can't say how well the cushions stand up to rain but my guess is that they will absorb water through the seams as do our other Sunbrella cushions on other chairs we own but that's not an isssue for us.The sofa appears well-made with the woven plastic taut and closely spaced. The sofa is surprisingly light but certainly appears strong with a great weight limit per the specifications but I've not tested that in person.in terms of value it is very good although I've noticed quite big price changes. We've paid over $600 just for Sunbrella cushions alone so I think it is great value. Note the biggest price differences are dependent on color with red often being hundreds cheaper.Comfort wise the base cushions are big and deep and are pretty firm similar to other higher end furniture. My wife thinks they are fine but I would like a touch more softness. The backs are less structured and are softer without being too soft and both of us are very happy with them. Lime many contemporary sofas the back is not that high so if this is important I'd suggest comparing the dimensions to an existing piece of furniture.We were able to book delivery within a certain time period and that worked well as the driver told me of their expected arrival time. Very good service.Overall I'm very satisfied with this sofa.
