The last time I sported driving gloves, I had a 1977 Fiat Spyder. Those tan gloves were for grip just as much as for style (wooden steering wheel back then). I remember the feel of those gloves and how they inspired confidence in handling the sportiness of that car. Fast-forward to today (Fall of 2017), and I am the proud holder of an order for a 2018 Ford Mustang GT (to be delivered in Jan 2018). I wanted to own some nicer gloves for driving my next car, and these seem to have been an excellent find. The leather on these gloves is soft and thin, allowing you to actually feel the car through the steering wheel. Warmth is not the object of these gloves. To me, it seems that comfort and "feel" are the most important things. Another benefit of driving gloves is that my hands sometimes tend to get a little oily (not sweaty). I have the kind of skin that leaves fingerprints on everything I touch. Well, after years of driving, that oil transfers to the steering wheel. These gloves will prevent that. Also very nice is that the entire glove is ventilated with small holes. This will allow for comfort and a secure feel, yet with breathability. Some further notes about these gloves: the fingers seem to have just a TOUCH of extra length...this, in my opinion, in necessary in order to remove the gloves! Second, there is a strong snap that closes the back. Also, there is an elastic strip that goes across the front of the wrist which helps for a secure fit. Finally, there is a small tab that may be designed to help you to pull the gloves on, but I never use it.
