This is one of those series that gets people addicted to reading. Book #2 was just as magnificent as the first! Since the world was established so well in the first book, the second book really helped build the story. It starts off strong and exciting, and stays like that all the way through to the major cliff-hanger ending. It is so easy to forget that these characters are kids because they are dealing with a very tough situation, and are actually handling it fairly well. I found some of the greatest moments in this book are when you are reminded how vulnerable they really are. They are all being used as pawns to destroy each other, and it is difficult to see it happen, but the story is so intriguing and fascinating. There are a lot of new things revealed in this book. Many of the questions from book #1 are answered, and some information given in this book really had me wondering about what book #3 will bring. It ended in a way I didn't see coming at all. I can't believe how much happened in this book. It was just a matter of a few days, but characters, relationships, powers, and even worlds changed dramatically, and it all seems to be connected. I absolutely loved it, and I love that I am left wondering. I normally don't care for cliff-hangers, but I'm very excited about this one because I know Micah Caida has nothing but greatness waiting for us in the next book.
