Came nicely boxed, so wasn't smashed beyond recognition, but the hat band trim was still wrinkled. The hat comes collapsed and there are a couple funny creases in it that I hope puff out after stuffing and allowing to rest. The primary reason it only gets 3 stars is that it is too tight on my 23" head and there isn't much stretch. It should fit a 22" head perfectly. The color is wine red. It actually fits my smaller head pretty well, but is a little bit big for her 4 year old head, but no worries. She loves for me to wear it and the price wasn't too bad for the quality of the hat. I like the sheer pieces that come down in the back. The hat does get a little warm, but that's just due to the material and the fact that it is still in the 90s here in AZ :) I would recommend this hat for any costume party/ play or whaterver.
