Extraordinary lantern! Light, compact, long battery life, take it camping or have it as a standby in case of power failure. Mine has endured two power failures for a total of 12 hours on the same batteries. Takes three AA batteries. Has 3 power settings and a flashing beacon setting for signaling distress. I carry one in my travel bag for hotel stays. Have one beside the bed, one in my garage, one in my boat, and one in my camping gear. This light is versatile, handy, convenient, and can be hung from the bottom or the top. The handle also has the ability to be mounted on the wall like a lantern. Other models com worth a magnet in the base.Perfect little lamp. The only thing I would add would be a clip on mirrored beam director for when you would like some more focused lighting. The lamp will work well in a tent or for a quick foray into the night for a little relief. It isn't overly bright so don't expect it to light up a camp site. I question the usefulness of the red light but my old eyes maybe aren't the best for a test. Can't make a personal comment on battery life but again, if used for the intended purpose I don't see why it would fall short.I am satisfied with the purchase and would buy another if needed. This is a very little light, and it's major drawback is the frosted cover it has which diffuses the light greatly. For it size, as in many LED's, it is more than sufficient. I have lanterns stored in every room, and I have this in the Bathroom, (when power goesoff, it doesn't wait until you are next to a flashlight). I also have one in my car kit, because of it's size, with a regular LED flashlight. The price is high though for what it actually is. I have since found cheaper more attractive choices. If you do get one, it works fine as advertised, just know it is small.Charge $2 extra if necessary, but don't offer this without magnets just because it's a different color. At least make it painfully obvious that the red (and pink) 3AAA Seiges don't have a magnetic base. Its tiny but puts out enough light. Would have been better with a magnetic base but the clips on each size make mounting in tents and branches doable. This is a very well made lantern. Although it's very small it's perfect for camping. Well made plastic covered with like a rubber feel to it. Functions all modes perfectly with nice lighting. I just keep on low setting for in the tent and it works great for reading. And the biggest feature for me is it's Waterproof and floats would be good for emergencies as well. I like the clip on the bottom too for hanging. I would buy from this company again!
