Rubbermaid has changed the diameter of the base of this trashcan, and the new ones we just bought don't fit the wheeled cart we use to take them out to the street. The older cans, same model, fit perfectly right from the start. If one of them had not split after 15 years we would still be using it. So, backhanded compliment: These cans have held up. Let's hope whatever changes they made don't cheapen how long the cans will last. Recommmended, for now. SHOPPING NOTE: Pay attention to whether the price includes the lid. Never heard of selling cans without lids, but that's what happened here.Used for all types of yard activities. Put a surface on it and it is almost the perfect standing work height. The bottom on my old cans wore through creating holes. The craftmanship of this new can is much appreciated.We have some of these in the film production studio where I work, so I was familiar with them and like the durability and sturdiness. Because I am ordering this to use in my home, I opted to get a white one that would fit the scheme of the rooms I will be using it in. What I didn’t expect is that it would be shipped with virtually no packaging, and while it’s sturdy enough to arrive intact it picks up all kinds of dirt and scuffs along the way. It looks grimy as can be even though not a single bit of trash has been placed in it. I am hopeful that it will clean up easily, but it’s been through the ringer. A bit of shrink wrap would have gone a long way. The tiny rim of plastic that had been wrapped around the top had been worn through, if that gives you any idea what kind of abuse the shipping carriers or warehouses that these pass through subject them to. My advice is don’t pick white, unless you plan on using it somewhere where it can look a bit haggard.good quality ,Upon arrival the Rubbermaid (white) trash can had black, some kind of rub marks all over that I can't totally remove. Perfect as wont topple over.Is overpriced and having to buy a lid separately is comical. This is not domed properly and even concaves in allowing water to collect rather than drain off. It's not even made right. Looks deformed so after the first rain I lowered my rating to 1 star though it's not worth that. With a heat gun and applying weight to the centre it is possible to get a dome shape but it takes several heatings and cool downs to get to an acceptable dome shape so water will run off and not collect on the top. These are not made correctly. All outside garbage bin lids are domed or slope so water runs off. Shame on rubbermaid for making this crap.
