Overall I really like this seat postIt is over 400 grams lighter than OEM aluminum oneIt conveniently has numbered lines for seat post heightIt provides a smoother ride than aluminum seat posts because the carbon fiber absorbs vibrations betterIt looks sleek in the matte no logo colorThings to remember:DO NOT over-tighten as it could break the seat postWithout a split saddle, you must tighten the front bolt first and level the saddle which is inconvenientI endorse this seat post--it's stiff, lightweight and has aesthetic qualities. However, I come across many reviews who experience cracking with carbon seat posts in general. While I have no idea how they installed it (whether correctly or incorrectly), I think it's important to note that using this post requires carbon friction gel. Carbon's structure is prone to cracking if the seat post clamp is tightened too much. Carbon gel helps with creating internal friction within the frame so that the post cannot slide down. This allows you to tighten the seat post clamp less to minimize breaking the carbon post. I know this is not readily know to many, but it's important to note if you want to get the most out of this product. So far this post has beem great for me. I am 6ft and 200 lbs, and it feels solid. I haven't had any creaks, cracks, or anything alarming. It flexes just enough to soak up some of the road vibration. Installing the saddle really isn't a big deal, you don't need a saddle with a hole in it. You just adjuat the tension of the front bolt firat, and them tighten the back to get the angle that you want. When the back is loose, you can turn the front bolt with your fingers. It only took me about 10 minutes to install and adjust. I haven't had any problems with the saddle rails slipping. The fit amd finish are great for the money. I will update the review if I have any problems down the road, but so far 5 stars. This is my second RXL SL Carbon seat post in three years. The post itself held up fine and I was happy with it, but the clamp bolt rusted out and broke. There are two bolts on the saddle, one to adjust angle and the other to tighten the seat. The bolt that broke was the one used to adjust the angle and there was no way to fish it out to fix it. Really wasn't a big deal because the seatpost was cheap to replace, it is light and helps round out my carbon fiber bike.I bought this seatpost to try out a carbon fiber seatpost as an option instead of spending over $150 on a name brand. I have a set of RXL SL carbon handlebars and have 3,900 miles over 2.5 years with them, and no issues whatsoever. So I expected a quality carbon product. I have now had 2 and both broke at the mounting point into the frame. The first at 5 miles, got an exchange through Amazon and the 2nd broke at just over a mile. On the first one I tightened by hand to the same tightness I always use for my seatpost. After the break I checked bolt torque and it was just below spec (not much, maybe .25 Nm). So with the second I reviewed the description since the QR code on the box went to a invalid website, and made sure to tighten loosely by hand with an Allen key and then used the torque wrench to be sure it was torqued to 4Nm as indicated. At just over 1 mile into my ride I felt the snap again, so I turned around and got my out of saddle practice in for the mile back to my start point.I am a bigger cyclist at 6'4", 215lbs... but you would expect the longer seatpost to consider there may be additional pivotal load farther out from the mounting point.I will wait to try a carbon seatpost again when I buy a new bike that has it stock.I have recently purchased a new full suspension MTB and needed to shed some weight. The seat post it came with was little too long and heavy.I have bought two of these because the price is very good compared to other option. Here is what you need to know:- The seat mount system little inconvenient. What I mean by that is that the front adjustment bolt can be only really adjusted before putting the seat on, so you need to figure out the angle and adjust the bolt before you put the seat on. Only the rear bolt can be tightened once the seat is on and this only allows for forward and backward adjustment but not angle.- Not as light as one might expect. The carbon walls are pretty think, which is probably a good thing but this means at the cost of weight. Still lighter than my aluminum.- Pay attention to the length of the seat post. If it is too long it can be cut down but be careful and wear gloves as there are some carbon fibers inside sticking out. What I like:- Lighter than my aluminum post.- Seems sturdy so far. I will update if it breaks.- Color is not bad either.Shortcomings:- I wish mounting system was more on a traditional side with both bolts adjusting from the bottom.- I wish the maker offered shorter post.- It could be lighter. Not sure why walls are this thick.- I wish the inside did not have any rough fibers sticking out.I would buy it again as overall it seems like a good value and would recommend it as well as you can live with the shortcomings listed above.Vélo , très faible qualité, fragile il a cassé après 400 m!Item arrived well packaged .. Good quality carbon .. perfect FIT on my bike .. Recommend ?
