This could be a love it or hate it product. From my perspective, I love it. I wanted a holster that I could use to protect my guns in a backpack or in the roll around plastic tool chest I use to haul all my "junk" to the shooting range. I also did not want a zipper-type fully enclosed gun case as in total they take up too much room. The construction quality is excellent and all my guns hand guns fit quite nicely in this holster. It is not intended for quick draw or concealed carry use. It can be attached to a MOLLE system compatible backpack, etc. Semi-auto pistols fit nice an snug in the holster and it has a snap closure the go's over the rear of the bolt/receiver. There is a a Velcro strap that covers the snap strap so if it should come unsnapped, the Velcro strip will keep the gun from slipping out. The length of these straps are adjustable to fit different gun lengths. The guns I carry in these holsters include a Glock G19 Gen 4, a Beretta 9mm PX4 storm, a Walther PK380, a S&W SD40VE and a S&W SD9VE. A full sized handgun like a 1911 may be a little tight but I believe it will fit.I would like to add that I have several different types of Red Rock Outdoor Gear products including an assault backpack, a small tactical duffel bag, a boat load of their three magazine pouches and several different sized storage pouches. All of these products are very well constructed, using good material, thoughtfully designed and moderately priced. And yes they are imported but so far I cannot complain about their products. My understanding is Red Rock design product and specify the material types to be used, and contract it out to manufacturers overseas. One of the other things I like is all of their different products that I've ordered in OD are almost identical in color..if that is important to you. One last word, I'm not a paid shill for Red Rock. I just like their products and value for the money.
