If you're looking for a collection of songs from the 1930s that swing and feature Mildred Bailey, this is it. Mildred Bailey sings on "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm," "A Porter's Love Song to a Chambermaid," "Always and Always,"Picture Me Without You," "Smoke Dreams," "I Go For That," and Ella Fitzgerald's signature song, "A-Tisket, A-Tasket." The sound quality is extremely good without the crackles and pops you usually hear on such old recordings in other collections. The remainder of the songs are really great easy swingin' tunes, including some Irving Berlin numbers, i.e., the aforementioned "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm," "Remember," and "Russian Lullaby." Featured on piano on several tracks is Bill Miller, who became Frank Sinatra's pianist. Get this disc!
