this is a toner, not a dye its not going to turn your hair white unless your hair was already a pretty light color after bleaching. does lift brassy color very well so long as you follow instructions. Rub it in your hair a bit for better results because it will help with the chemical reaction. don't leave for more than2 hours, please.Remorsefully LoveI wish the directions said to leave it on longer. I realize it reads, "at least 30 minutes" & I left mine on for 45 minutes. I read other reviews who said they left it on for 2 hours. That was my plan, but I wasn't able to do that. : ( After 45 minutes, there was a LOTTTTT less yellow, but still a hint of it, which I'm sure wouldn't be there if I'd left the toner in longer. I also purchased the "Silver Stiletto" coloring shampoo & conditioner, so I am sure the mild, continued coloring will keep the yellow away. But even after 45 minutes, my natural gray hair is enhanced & the remaining brunette is far cooler. I gave it a 4 for longevity, but really have no basis for that b/c I'm writing this review just hours after I've completed the process. Fingers crossed!!I've been using Manic Panic for about 10 years and it hasn't disappointed yet, when applied properly this stuff lasts at minimum a good three months per usage, doesn't stain, and doesn't have an offputting smell when applying like Splat dye does. Great vibrant color with a soft feeling, and a little goes a long way.I've now been using Manic Panic Cotton Candy for 7 months. (Why did I wait so long to get up the courage to dye my hair pink?) This is definitely a keeper. The color goes well with my complexion which should be true for pink, but not all pinks are "created equally". I read many reviews of how people don't get the color on the bottle. You must bleach your hair to almost white to achieve the Cottton Candy pink on the bottle. In this photo, I was at the 4-week stage and as it washes out, it starts to turn a salmon/peach color. But the more I dye it, the more I've learned. I have to bleach my hair every 6 weeks. Then I dye it 3 times during those 6 weeks of no bleach. Since its vegan, it won't damage your hair like bleach does. I leave the Cotton Candy in a minimum of 2 hours, sometimes 5 hours if I have nothing going on. The more often you keep putting the Cotton Candy in, the more your hair shafts will hold onto the color, but you must start with the "white hair canvas". Then you'll be amazed at how much your hair is the same as the color on the bottle and how gorgeous the color will be, plus how soft your hair will feel.My one regret was buying the two-pack of the Manic Panic Cotton Candy. I always buy 2 bottles at a time and noticed that Amazon sold it in a two-pack. Not paying attention to the price until I got my credit card bill, I was shocked that Amazon charges extra for the two-pack. It's about $2.00 cheaper to buy 2 bottles than the two-pack. I know that sounds crazy, but I made that mistake only once. There is no difference in size or quantity/volume of 2 separate bottles than the two-pack. So anyone else who buys the Cotton Candy Amplified, buy the 2 bottles. Amazon doesn't need our extra hard-earned dollars. As for whether the Amplified actually makes a difference, I'm not quite sure. This is what I started using originally, so I don't want to change a good thing. However, I also add 3 drops of Pink Shrine into the Manic Panic Cotton Candy and mix it really well in a plastic hair dyeing bowl. I then saturate my hair, using a hair dyeing brush, after first separating my hair into quarters. My hair is fairly short, but I use 2 bottles of Manic Panic every time I dye it. Then I place a plastic shower cap on my head and 2+ hours later, I have the color that's on the bottle. It's hard work to keep up with this Cotton Candy pink, but for me, it works! The one which I got was a bit chunky. But it still worked. I just had to work it in my hair a bit. I also tried a violet color by manic panic, that one washed out with 1 wash. But, the hot pink stayed for a few weeks and slowly faded away.I've been dying my hair every color you could imagine for nearly 2 decades now. Blue is probably my most common dye job, right after good ol' plain Jane brown. As far as blue dyes go, this one is pretty good. I certainly like it better than the cheap box dye you can get at your local Walgreens. I dunno what it is about the box dye, but it seems they stain my skin and general surroundings better than it does my hair. Manic Panic doesn't stain my skin nearly as bad, and seems to be easier to get out of surfaces like my shower and bathroom sink. However, like nearly every other blue hair dye on the market, this color will fade faster than others (Reds, purples, and pinks seem to last longer and "leak" less.) Essentially, as long as your hair is still blue, your hair will leak any time it's wet. You'll want to invest in blue towels, just for drying your hair or wrapping it up until it's completely dry. This is typical of most blue dyes I've used, so it's expected. It's hard to say if this product has helped/harmed my hair quality since using as I use a lot of other products like conditioner, leave in conditioner, color protectors, etc. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say maybe my hair is a little bit shinier and softer than it was when I used the box blue dye from Walgreens that shall remain nameless. It does smell nice, as far as hair dye goes. And of course, every time I shower, my hair becomes a blue raspberry teabag that slightly stains my skin and surroundings after each wash. And you really have to make sure your hair is dry before you get it near any kind of surface- especially your bed, clothing, etc. Most of my bedding is blue anyway, so it wasn't too big of an issue when it stained a pillow case of mine. Word of advice- even if you're sure your hair is entirely dry, you'll want to invest in a sacrificial pillowcase to protect your pillows and sheets. ESPECIALLY if you're staying the night in a hotel or friend's place. Sorry, mom, for your smurftastic pillow.Love Manic Panic colours, you just do not get enough in a pot, if you have long or thick hair you definitely need two pots. Wash in cold water to keep colour for longer. The picture I added is the colour over an orange bleached base, the whiter the base colour the more true the colour. It soaks nicely into porus dry hair.I love manic panic and have used it for many years.Moving to the UK made it hard to find for me for a while unitl i found i could order it online.I will say its much more expensive than what I used to pay but when you need a good colour that stays on long enough, you must try Manic Panic. The amplified versions are a bit more expensive but the colours are definitely amplified.I think Ive worn every color and I totally recommend.I like how it feels in my hair as well, its like having a conditioner because it makes my hair feel soft.If you want more vibrant colors try the amplified versions of color, for an easy touch up use the regular versions.I would love to see bigger jars but thats just a dream on my end.I would also recommend my seller sending them in better packaging (small box) because I recieved it in a amazon envelope and that would make it easy for the item to be damaged if crushed.I never write reviews but it deserves a mention. I’ve tried many different hair dyes that never seem to last or look very vibrant. I was real close to just turning to a permanent pastel but I decided to go HOT pink so it would fade to my desired colour as shown in the second image. I always used sulphate free products and colour protection products alongside cold water when washing my hair to keep colour and I would be lucky if colour lasted more than 3 washes on my hair. I tried Directions , Crazy colour , LIVE colours and even shopping brands such as Morrison’s and I found none that lasted without going patchy and washed out on my ends until this colour. I’ve had it in for 3 weeks and I’ve washed it 5 times and it’s not budged much other than the ends being lighter pink. In fact , it looks like I’ve done it on purpose. If you’re wanting to go for a pastel colour that will last a while I recommend these amplified colours. For a person who gets mucky a lot at work and likes to enjoy a bath I can safely say even with hot water the colour won’t fade much. I love manic panic and I refuse to go back.I've tried almost every blue dye created and I keep coming back to this one. It's not the cheapest but for me its the perfect shade of blue and lasts a good while. The consistency is very thick however which makes its harder to squeeze out the bottle, I wish they made this formula in a jar container too.. anyway for best results put on dry hair and shrink wrap your head..leave in as long as possible..then rinse and enjoy. Like all colours try to wash your hair as little as possible..dry shampoo is your friend.I used to use the hot pink manic panic on my hair when I was younger so I thought I knew what I was getting myself into. I had a cap ready to sleep in and covered my pillowcase with a blue towel ready for the first few nights after dying. It’s been 3 washes now and I’m still shedding ridiculous amounts of blue, even when my hair is bone dry! I have ended up having my hair in a bun the whole time because otherwise it rubs colour onto my neck and makes me look like I have gangrene. Also just from playing with my hair throughout the days my fingernails are dyed totally blue. I expected some colour transference but this is beyond ridiculous. The colour on my actual hair has already faded quite substantially but I’m still leaving a trail of blue wherever I go. Never again!
