This yarn is very pretty. I used it for a shawl (wrap scarf). The other reviews are accurate in that there is occasionally thicker sections of the yarn. But this is minimal and I like the authentic, natural look it gives my project. Overall, it is a beautiful yarn and great value for what I paid. I found this very similar to the Hobbii yarn (Carnival) that I have bought and used before.Yarn is really soft. But too expensive for that size. I could have paid less in the store. Saved on shipping and the waiting to be delivered time frame. I thought the skies was going to be twice the size it actually was.I love Unforgettable yarn and use it regularly in projects, including hats and scarves, and soft enough for baby blankets too. I think this yarn produces projects that look decidedly upscale, with a look and feel of quality. It feels soft and a bit fuzzy, but also has this subdued, gorgeous sheen. The colors in the finished project look a little different depending on the lighting. That said, I was initially disappointed with the "Stained Glass" yarn. The photo makes it look like it works up in a rainbow, with more purple. Instead, it worked up with a variety of stripes, in every color imaginable, but all of which could be described as stained glass colors, and despite the variety of colors, they all harmonized well.Basically, it was not what I expected, but the result was lovely anyhow. I used this yarn to make an infinity scarf for a young woman, and she loved it, loved the stripes and colors. (pictured)THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS YARN:** This is a roving yarn, which means parts of the yarn will be thicker than others, from a slight bulky feel to a thread. The threads are strong, but sometimes I'll do a double stitch when the yarn is extra thin, such as placing two double crochet in the same stitch, making sure to catch both stitches together when I crochet the next row. I love Unforgettable roving yarn because it gives my projects a wonderful texture, with beautiful stitch definition.** From personal experience, lot number does make a big difference. Check that you have enough for your project.** This is a wonderful yarn, but it is also inexpensive. As such, one does find knots. With the Stained Glass yarn, transitioning to another color was easy and not obvious. With colorways that flow more subtly, one could end up with obvious transitions.** It's not too difficult to pull this yarn apart, especially if it's been used over and over (the more you tear it out and start over, the less stable the yarn becomes). In other words, be careful not to make mistakes -- or at least too many of them!** This yarn will tangle. It likes to stick to itself. Beginners in particular might find this frustrating. Because it sticks to itself, it can make ripping out stitches difficult/unpleasant/impossible. I've been trying to talk myself into balling the yarn, instead of using the pull from the center. Balling is a pain. But so is untangling. All that said, I love this yarn. While it has its issues, it's worth it for the beauty and softness. It's so soft, the colorways so beautiful and rich, and every finished project I give as a gift is always greeted with pleasure. I hope I've been helpful!Nice colors all thru the package l.The colors are gorgeous and the yarn is incredibly soft, but it doesn't frog very easily and fell apart when I used it to whip stitch. The same skein had parts that varied from size 2 all the way to a 4 in thickness. The colors were neatly blended in some skeins and barely connected in others. I had the colors fall apart on me several times as if it wasn't properly spun together.I don't know if this is normal for yarns like this because I never buy anything more expensive than value yarn, but this was a real shame.I absolutely fell in love with the colors in this yarn. I made a scarf for my sister-in-law, and she was delighted. It is soft and warm, and she too loves the colors! Easy to work with although some of the thread was wound unevenly. However, you could not tell on the finished product!I really enjoyed working with this yarn. I crochet chemo caps for charity, and I usually use cotton thread or cotton yarn, but I was intrigued by the Unforgettable colors. This yarn is actually quite thin (which is my preference) with an occasional thicker section. I first became aware of this yarn when I saw a pattern for it that used a 4.0mm hook, which is the largest I normally use, so I bought a few skeins to try it. I would never use a 6.0mm hook, which is the size used for the gauge on the label. Before I did many rounds of the first cap, using a 4.0mm hook, I realized I needed to switch to a smaller hook, so I went to a 3.75mm. Further on, I went even smaller, to a 3.50mm. That was perfect. I made a second cap, using the 3.50mm, and that is what I will use from now on with this yarn. If you use the 6.0mm hook that Red Heart recommends, you will have gaps, and I don’t want gaps in chemo caps.I used a Clover Amour aluminum crochet hook, and I had absolutely no problems whatsoever with the hook splitting the yarn. In fact, the yarn worked up very quickly and easily and was a pleasure to work with.I did not have any problems unraveling mistakes (nobody’s perfect). You just need to do it slowly and don’t let the fibers twist and knot. The color changes are of what I would consider medium length. Working a chemo cap in double crochet, I would get more than a row in the same color, with one exception. I used the Winery color, and once on each cap, there was a short streak (about half a round) of a very, very bright pink. It really sticks out like a sore thumb, especially because it was always at a thick point in the yarn. I was not happy with that, but the rest of the colors were pretty. The final caps were reasonably soft, not super soft.My main complaint is that, for this price, I could not get two chemo caps out of one skein. That’s absurd. I finished one and two-thirds of a cap with one skein.FYI, I haven't knitted in many a year, and I cannot speak to how this yarn knits up.This is a super soft yarn but the biggest issue I'm having with it is that the thickness of the yarn will vary anywhere from too thick to crochet or knit to so thin you're afraid it will snap, which makes uniformity next to impossible. Still though, it's a good yarn for things like scarves or shawls that don't necessarily NEED uniformity to work. Either way, would not recommend for beginners, but would recommend for any project requiring softness that doesn't need uniform stitches.Dear seller, this item arrived on time and looked lovely but on closer inspection I realised that one ball has a different dye lot to the other two balls! Not a good start considering I was already half way through one ball before I realised this! Also, yarn is thicker and thinner in places when being worked and, have come across four knots so far where yarn has obviously been broken and tied back together?! Please advise... Mrs Hosken.Very disappointed as the yarn was listed as a triple pack but I only received one skein. I notice this is not a single occurrence and wish I had read the review beforehand. I am rather surprised the seller has not changed the listing. I am doubly upset as I found a pattern needing six balls and ordered another pack before I received this! Having said that the yarn is beautiful and I was sad to leave a negative review but I feel I have been conned! Please note, you will only receive one ball of this yarn and not three as still stated in the title, despite the seller being well aware of this issue. The yarn itself is very soft however, it does have random thick and very thin parts which causes issues whilst using it. Mine ball also had joins in it which were a pain to disguise.Would I buy this yarn again? Probably not. I find James C Brett Monsoon a much better yarn to use and is very similarThe yarn was broken and tied, also twisted up on itself , causing knots. I have used this before and been happy. Not what I expected. This yarn is truly beautiful. I haven't worked with it yet, as I have promised myself I won't start new projects until old ones are finished, but I'm really looking forward to getting this on my hook! The yarn is a little lighter-weight than I would expect for 6mm needles / hooks, but having seen a number of completed projects on Revelry, this doesn't concern me.The yarn took a couple of weeks to arrive - not unduly long for a US yarn.
